The Serbian government stated today that the Fourth Think-Tank conference of the Belt and Road Institute Belgrade, under the auspices of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to Serbia and the government of Serbia, will be held on 17 May.
The Conference on Infrastructure Development will for the first time bring together more than 50 researchers from Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.
The delegation from the People's Republic of China will be led by the key national Centre for Innovation and Sustainable Transport of the Beijing Transport University, one of the most prestigious in the world, from which a large number of development solutions related to railway transport and infrastructure originate, and they will be joined by leading researchers from Serbia and other countries included in the cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Representatives of large Chinese companies in Serbia will participate in the work of the conference, as well as a large number of guests from more than 20 countries. On that occasion, an agreement establishing the Belgrade branch of the Centre for Innovation and Sustainable Transport will be signed.
Presentations at the conference will cover the topics of geopolitical dynamics and regional cooperation, the first decade of the Belt and Road Initiative, the visits of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Europe, the infrastructural connectivity of nations, as well as sustainable joint development and exchange between people and business ventures.
The results and conclusions from the conference will be forwarded to the relevant institutions in Serbia and China.
The conference will be opened by Prime Minister Miloš Vucevic and Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Serbia Li Ming, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesić will speak at the event and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović will attend.
