Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with the newly appointed head of the Council of Europe Office in Serbia, Janos Babic, about the past cooperation and continuity of cooperation on existing and new programmes with this organisation.
The Prime Minister welcomed the head of the Council of Europe Office, and pointed out that there is a lot of room for improving cooperation in numerous areas.
Brnabic conveyed to Babic our views on the inadmissibility of the request of the so-called “Kosovo” for membership in the Council of Europe, and expressed her gratitude to all member states that showed understanding for Serbia’s views.
Babic expressed his gratitude for the constructive cooperation of the Council of Europe Office with the government of Serbia, and pointed out that the goal is to continue existing and start new cooperation programmes during his mandate.
In this context, he particularly emphasized the possibility of deepening cooperation in the areas of human rights, education, and environmental protection, in which the application of the expertise of the Council of Europe would have benefits for the citizens of Serbia.
