Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali stated that a single labour market of Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia has been officially established today.
Mali explained that the implementation of the Protocol on connecting the scheme of electronic identification of citizens of the Western Balkans and the Protocol on the implementation of the agreement on conditions for free access to the labour market in the Western Balkans has begun today.
He underlined that these are very important protocols within the Open Balkans initiative, owing to which citizens of Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia will be allowed to enter the territory of any of these three countries with a valid personal document on free movement and the possibility of employment in all three countries without issuance of work permits.
Mali announced that electronic services for the registration of workers on the single labour market will become available to citizens during the next week and that the eGovernment portals of the three countries will be connected.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the establishment of a common labour market of Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia will be beneficial for both citizens and the economy of the region as a whole, as the expansion of the labour market opens up greater business opportunities for both individuals and companies.
