Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with CEO of Toyo Tire Corporation Takashi Shimizu.
The Japanese Toyo Tire Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of automobile tires, founded in 1945.
The Prime Minister said that Japanese companies are always welcome and that Toyo Tire can count on all kinds of support from the Serbian government.
Brnabic expressed her satisfaction with the fact that this Japanese company established its first production facility precisely in Serbia, with headquarters in Indjija.
According to her, Serbia is increasingly investing in the development and application of artificial intelligence and IT technologies in industry, which has a positive effect on cooperation with Japan and all global companies operating in our country.
CEO Takashi Shimizu highlighted the significant progress of the Toyo Tire factory in Indjija, which was officially opened in 2022, and the value of the investment was almost €400 million.
He said that this factory can boast of the impeccable quality of its products, which are mostly exported to the markets of the United States of America, Canada and the European Union
Takashi Shimizu expressed his special satisfaction regarding the successful cooperation with the University of Novi Sad, and announced additional investments in Serbia.
Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Akira Imamura also attended the meeting.
