Eight proposals were adopted at the session that contribute to reforms in the field of energy, sustainable energy, infrastructure projects, primarily railway infrastructure, as well as environmental protection, which will contribute to the sustainable improvement of the Serbian economy.
The proposed investments are related to the revitalisation and extension of the fourth aggregate of the Potpec hydroelectric power plant, to the integration of the solar-thermal plant into the district heating system of Novi Sad, the broadband network in rural areas, the construction and equipping of the BIO 4 campus, the main gas pipeline Nis - Velika Plana - Batajnica - Horgos, with compressor stations.
They also refer to the closure and rehabilitation of municipal unsanitary landfills and the construction of recycling yards in the Novi Sad region, to the closure and rehabilitation of unsanitary landfills in the cities-municipalities of six regional waste management centres, and to the acceleration of railway development in the Balkans through commercialisation.
The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of European Integration will be responsible for monitoring and implementing these projects, in cooperation with other competent institutions of the Serbian government.
The Committee and the Subcommittee were established in accordance with the new Regulation on capital projects, the implementation of which began in November 2023, which continues work on the reform of public investment management.
