Partnership with Pfizer in the development of biomedicine and biotechnology

Belgrade, 26 September 2023

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and regional director of Pfizer Mohamed Hammam signed a Memorandum of Understanding today, as a confirmation of the partnership in the development of biomedicine and biotechnology in Serbia, with the construction of the BIO4 Campus.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the cooperation with the company Pfizer and the signing of the Memorandum is in accordance with the priority of the Government of Serbia to invest in science, innovation and the use of modern technologies, among which biotechnology and artificial intelligence occupy a special place.

The importance of these technologies is particularly reflected in the construction of one of the priority projects under the mandate of this Government, which is the BIO4 Campus.

As Brnabic stated, this document provides space for further increasing the competitiveness of our economy, with a focus on engaging the Pfizer company to increase the number of clinical studies, education, promotion, knowledge exchange and cooperation with our institutes and faculties in the field of research and development.

Hammam said that Pfizer as a company is unstoppable day after day in the pursuit of innovative discoveries that change the lives of patients, committed to finding solutions to reach each of them, relying on science that always wins.
