Continuing trend of economic growth in Q3, Q4

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic presided today over the session of the Council for the Coordination of Activities and Measures for the Growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), at which it was stated that in 2023, Serbia should reach an economic growth of 2.5%.

Brnabic said that it is important to continue the trend of economic growth in the third and fourth quarters, pointing out that industry and construction are key areas for achieving economic growth, as in the second quarter a growth of 1.7% was recorded, which is in line with expectations.

Progress achieved in construction and the faster issuance of building permits was highlighted, which is important for capital projects and private investments.

Speaking about the most important projects, the Prime Minister emphasised that every project is important and that every ministry, local self-government and public company must work diligently to meet the deadlines for the completion of projects, all in order to achieve greater economic growth.

It was especially emphasised that new projects, such as the start of infrastructure works for EXPO 2027, will contribute to additional economic growth by the end of the year.

Brnabic pointed out that the field of tourism is experiencing growth, which is primarily reflected in the higher number of overnight stays by foreign tourists.
