Minister of the Interior Bratislav Gasic along with Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Austria Gerhard Karner and Deputy Minister of the Interior of Hungary Bence Rétvári signed today in Vienna a Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening trilateral cooperation in areas of effective fight against illegal migration.

The memorandum was signed as part of the third trilateral meeting of Hungary, Serbia and Austria, which was attended by the highest officials of these countries – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
This memorandum will further improve cooperation in preserving border security, combating irregular migration and human smuggling and, apart from providing for the intensification of the activities of the police of the countries signatories, will enable the inclusion of other countries affected by irregular migration.
Gasic also attended the meeting of the ministers of foreign and interior affairs of Serbia, Hungary and Austria, where Serbia was praised for the results achieved in the fight against irregular migration, according to the statement of the Ministry of the Interior.
