Speaking at the promotion “Transromantik, romantic European heritage journeys” she said that including Serbian cultural heritage in such an interregional, European project, will significantly contribute to the promotion of domestic culture and bring it closer to European tourists.
According to Cubrilo, in this way possibilities will be created for an influx of financial funds from the EU to modernise tourist infrastructure, and the introduction of tour operators and commercialisation will significantly contribute to improving the flow of foreign currency into the country.
Cubrilo said that not all monasteries belonging to the Raska School are on the same infrastructure level and by including Serbia in the “Transromantik” project it would initiate an improvement in the standard of tourist offers, from accommodation to food.
A selection of 25 cultural monuments from five regions in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Italy partnership network has been created for the project “Transromantik”. The project will last for three years and has been supported by the EU with funds worth€2 million.
The project got a new dimension when Slovenia initiated the inclusion of other European regions in the cultural tour “Transromantik”, such as cultural heritage in France, Spain, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Croatia and Serbia-Montenegro.
A national committee, which was formed in Belgrade at the end of last year, chose five monasteries that should be included in the joint European cultural tour.
