Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the government of the Republic of Serbia and AMAZON WEB SERVICE (AWS) today at the Data Centre in Kragujevac.
The agreement, which will enable cooperation in the field of innovation and economic development through the training of personnel for the application of the most modern cloud technologies, was signed by Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanovic and the company's general manager for Europe, Cameron Brooks.
Brnabic assessed that today is another great day for the ICT sector, for the digitalisation of Serbia and all public services of eGovernment, through education, the health system, and generally providing better, more transparent and efficient services to the economy and all citizens.
Jovanovic said that by signing this agreement with AWS, which is one of the most comprehensive and widely accepted cloud service providers in the world, cooperation is established in the field of innovation and economic development, based on the development and use of cloud technologies.
We will work together on the education and development of digital skills among young people in order to develop cloud-based businesses and further improve the ICT sector in Serbia, the Minister said.
He pointed out that education, training and certified programmes will also be organized for the public and private sector in Serbia and that work will be done on the implementation of the National Digital Strategy and the development of cloud-oriented businesses, in an effort to strengthen cloud legislation through the improvement of the Law on e-Government.
