During the talks, Brnabic emphasised that she sees the future primarily in the field of biotechnology, i.e. the construction of the BIO4 campus, which should connect areas that are important for the sustainable development of the country.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia has ready projects that it can implement in cooperation with this multilateral development institution and added that she sees the AIIB first and foremost as a partner in the implementation of future projects.
The Prime Minister stated that Serbia has made great progress in the field of digitalisation and development of artificial intelligence and that these are areas that can provide the country with safe economic growth.
According to her, the government of Serbia has strategically committed to investing in infrastructure, green energy and the IT industry.
AIIB President Jin Liqun assessed that Serbia is a country that is safe for investment and cooperation, pointing out that international investors are confirmation of a stable business environment.
He emphasised that the AIIB is interested in projects that are traditional in the Bank’s business operations, such as infrastructure and railways, but that he also sees room for cooperation in the areas of digitalisation, artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begovic.
