Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Defence Milos Vucevic said today that President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic ordered the Serbian Army to raise its combat readiness to the highest level, following the riots in the north of Kosovo and Metohija during the attempts of “Kosovo police” to forcibly enter the buildings of local institutions.

Vucevic told Pink Television that the Serbian Army started its activities according to that order and added that someone must understand that what Kurti is doing leads to red lines, to the complete collapse of dialogue, escalation on the ground and endangering peace and stability in region.
The Ministry of Defence and the Army of Serbia will implement the order of the President, as the Supreme Commander of the Army and will do what is expected of the Army – to defend the country’s sovereignty, freedom and independence, Vucevic said.
He told the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija to remain calm, even though the situation is dramatic, not to fall for provocations and to avoid a scenario where they would be portrayed as some "criminal groups and hooligans".
