The Serbian government adopted a number of amended regulations related to agriculture, concerning subsidies per head of livestock and increases in levies and premiums for milk.
By amending several decrees, among other things, levies for cheese and other products will be increased to RSD 300, and levies on evaporated milk in the amount of RSD 300 will be introduced.
Subsidies per head for breeding non-dairy cows are being raised, from RSD 30,000 to RSD 40,000.
When it comes to milk premiums, they will be increased from RSD 15 to RSD 19 per litre in the second, third and fourth quarter of 2023, and the total increase will amount to RSD3 billion. The total amount for milk premiums this year will be RSD 15 billion.
The Decision on amending the Decision on the determination of agricultural and food products for which a special duty is payable upon importation and the determination of the amount of the special duty was also adopted, given that a detailed analysis and monitoring of the situation on the milk and milk products market showed that increased import of semi-hard cheeses, despite the protective measures, led to the destabilisation of domestic cheese production, the creation of surpluses and the impossibility of marketing due to the uncompetitive import price.
That is why it was proposed to increase the special duties on the import of six types of cheese from the European Union market and other markets.
Government members adopted the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Financial Support for Families with Children, which continues to support mothers who are business owners.
