Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with a delegation of companies from the Italian region of Veneto about the possibilities of improving economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Serbia's relations with the Veneto region are at a high level and that she especially appreciates the significant economic exchange between the two sides.
Brnabic recalled that the Veneto region is one of Serbia's leading economic partners among Italian regions.
As a great incentive for mutual cooperation, Prime Minister Brnabic highlighted the importance of the Serbia-Italy Business and Science Forum, which was organised in Belgrade in March of this year. This was the largest business forum of the two countries in the last ten years, in which 256 companies from Serbia and 151 companies from Italy took part, and 13 bilateral agreements were signed.
The Prime Minister underlined the significance of Italy as an extremely important economic partner of Serbia, emphasising that in addition to the continuation of investment cooperation, there is great potential especially in the areas of technological innovation, artificial intelligence, green and energy transition, sustainable agriculture, environment, infrastructure, scientific cooperation and the auto industry.
The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to work to improve and deepen cooperation.
Italy will participate as a partner country at the upcoming fair of agriculture in Novi Sad.
The meeting was also attended by Italian Ambassador to Serbia Luca Gori.
