Continuation of government's strong support to students

Belgrade, 25 April 2023

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic today welcomed the students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade who took the second place at the 30th “Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot” competition in Vienna, in a competition of 378 universities from more than 80 countries of the world.

Also, at this competition, student Marko Doslic received an award for one of the best speakers at the competition (Honourable Mention), and the Belgrade team was praised for one of the best lawsuits (Honourable Mention for Claimant Memorandum) in the written part of the competition.

The Prime Minister congratulated the students and the team of teachers on their success and expressed her gratitude for the way they represented Serbia.

She pointed out that their success is a great honour for our country and for the University of Belgrade and emphasised that the government of Serbia will continue to invest in young people, to be a strong support for students and an additional motivation to build on the acquired knowledge and constantly strive for improvement, because they are the backbone prospective future of our country.

The students expressed their desire to improve their knowledge and skills at universities in the world, and after that to return to Serbia in order to contribute to the development of their community and country.

The meeting was also attended by the rector of Belgrade University, Prof. Dr. Vladan Djokic, Dean of the Faculty of Law Zoran Mirkovic and mentors of the team prof. Dr. Vladimir Pavic and Assoc. Dr. Milena Djordjevic.
