Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija constantly exposed to provocations by Pristina

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and UNMIK Head Caroline Ziadeh about the Report of the UN Secretary-General on the work of UNMIK, which will be presented at a UN Security Council session on 27 April, which will deal with the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the position of Serbs and non-Albanian population in the province and the necessity of implementation of the Brussels Agreement.

Brnabic expressed great concern for the safety of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, who are constantly exposed to provocations by Pristina, pointing out that Serbian cemeteries and churches are continuously being destroyed, which sends a clear message that Serbs are not welcome in Kosovo and Metohija.

The Prime Minister recalled that Pristina has failed to implement the Brussels Agreement for the whole 10 years, stressing that the full implementation of that document and the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities is necessary, as it will enable Serbs to feel safer.

Speaking about the Open Balkans Initiative, she underlined that this format is an excellent opportunity to connect the entire region in order to achieve economic prosperity, as well as a faster flow of people and goods.

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and UNMIK Head said that the goal is to preserve peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija.
