Serbia committed to deepening overall cooperation with UAE

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan about strengthening political and economic relations between the two countries.

Brnabic expressed great satisfaction with the friendly ties, strategic partnership and high level of cooperation between our countries, and highlighted Serbia's firm determination to continue further development, improvement and deepening of overall cooperation with the UAE on the basis of sincere partnership.

During the talks, the interlocutors identified a number of specific areas in which the cooperation of the two parties can produce significant results - exchange of experiences and connection of the start-up ecosystem, joint investments in the field of digital agriculture, innovation, creative industries, as well as cultural and educational exchange.

The Prime Minister pointed out biotechnologies as the next branch on which Serbia puts special emphasis, and that she would like to see further joint projects in this area.

During the talks, the importance of the work on the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and the UAE was highlighted, which will further strengthen economic ties and facilitate trade between the two countries. The agreement will contribute to the further growth of investments and the creation of new jobs.

The two officials agreed that the two countries have exceptionally friendly relations, and the Prime Minister gave special thanks for the help sent to Serbia during the coronavirus pandemic.
