Brnabic recalled that the State of Hesse is one of the leading economic partners of Serbia among the German states.
The Prime Minister said that a great incentive to the mutual cooperation is the Joint Statement of Intent for Cooperation between the Provincial government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the government of the State of Hesse, signed in 2019.
According to her, as a future member of the EU, Serbia recognises the great importance of cooperation with European regions.
She also underlined the importance of the Federal Republic of Germany as an exceptionally important economic and political partner of Serbia, pointing out that in addition to the continuation of investment cooperation, especially in the hi-tech sector, there are great opportunities for deepening cooperation in other areas – pharmaceuticals, energy, automotive industry, and in cooperation in the field of science and education.
Putrich expressed the determination of the State of Hesse to continue deepening relations with Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, and to provide support to Serbia on its path to membership in the European Union.
The meeting was also attended by German Ambassador to Serbia Anke Konrad, members of the parliament of Hesse from the parties CDU, LDP and AfD, as well as representatives of the Hessian Ministry for the Environment and company Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH.
