Serbia signs contract on organising EC in water polo in Belgrade from September 1 to 10

President of the Serbia-Montenegro's Water Polo Association (VSSCG) Velibor Sorovic and Honorary Treasurer of the LEN European Swimming Federation Nory Kruchten signed today a contract according to which Belgrade will host the European Water Polo Championship from September 1 to 10 this year.

At a press conference, the signatories said they expect a successfully organised event and believe that since Serbia-Montenegro has an admirable tradition when it comes to results and good organisation of water polo games, the upcoming championship will also be organised in line with high international standards.
Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic pointed out that Serbia will use all its experience in other sports and competitions to organise this event properly.
According to Vuksanovic, the details have been specified and everything is going according to plan. The Serbian government has provided the necessary funds, he added.
LEN Director Laszlo Sakadati announced that the draw for the Championship will be announced after qualifications, that is in April in Belgrade.
