Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Serbia Jozsef Zoltan Magyar and wished him a warm welcome to Serbia and a successful mandate.
Brnabic and the Hungarian Ambassador agreed that the relations between the two countries are the best in history and that they will build future cooperation on that basis.
The Prime Minister particularly emphasised the economic cooperation between the two countries, which is developing extremely dynamically and which achieved a record exchange value in 2022.
She estimated that the completion of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway will be a big incentive for the next period.
Speaking about the challenges of illegal migration, the Prime Minister said that the trilateral cooperation between Serbia, Hungary and Austria is working well and that mutual support is necessary in order to overcome these and similar challenges.
Ambassador Magyar emphasised that the political and economic relations of the two countries have never been better and that they will be further improved in other areas of common interest.
He reiterated that Hungary supports Serbia on its way to membership in the European Union.
