Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that she expects amendments to the Law on Foreigners, which should simplify procedures, to enter the parliamentary procedure in March.
After visiting the new building of the Training Centre of the Air Force Academy at which MTU company awarded its donation to that educational institution, Brnabic explained, answering a journalist’s question, that the amended law will combine work and residence permits and that the entire procedure will be electronic.
She estimated that this is in favour of easier and faster employment, stating that last year there were 35,000 requests from foreigners for work permits, 30,000 of which were approved, while 65,000 were requests for residence visas, mostly due to family reunification.
The Prime Minister said that the increasing trend continued this year, when there were more than 8,000 requests in a month and a half.
The mentioned legal solution is currently in the stage of public discussion.
