On that occasion, Brnabic said that foreigners used to register at Savska Street, and added that it was their first contact point with our country, the first face of our country they see, the face of our state administration.
She stated that the conditions in those premises were extremely bad, and therefore the service was of insufficient quality, which is why one of the first things in the mandate of this government was to open a new Administration for Foreigners.
The Prime Minister specified that during the last year, more than 65,000 foreigners came to Serbia and applied for temporary residence, and that more than 60,000 temporary residence permits were issued, while more than 35,000 foreigners requested work permits.
That trend continued in 2023, Brnabic pointed out and added that from 1 January of this year until 12 February, there were more than 8,000 requests for temporary residence.
Gasic underlined that Serbia has become extremely attractive to foreigners, both for tourism and for living and working.
He explained that the premises of the Administration for Foreigners have been completely renovated and adapted to the wide range of tasks that the administration performs.
