We have done many things together since the first conference in 2018, such as the establishment of the "Point of Return" Programme, which serves as a basic contact and in the most concrete way helps young people from the diaspora who want to return to Serbia, the Prime Minister stated.
She pointed out that this assistance is related to issuing personal documents, looking for a job, and for those who do not have Serbian citizenship, the "Serbica Card" programme was created, which allows them to live and work in Serbia as if they had citizenship.
The Prime Minister pointed out that tax and customs benefits were introduced for young returnees, and that this project was greatly supported by Infostud, which provided a special page for the employment of young people from the diaspora in Serbia.
Brnabic recalled that the electronic validation of diplomas is also enabled, adding that there is still a problem with the diplomas of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Law, for which solutions are being sought.
Speaking about the digitisation and scientific progress of Serbia, the Prime Minister emphasised that Serbia is one of the countries in the world that has progressed the fastest in these areas and that this is an opportunity for young people from the diaspora to have challenges here as well, like those that keep them abroad.
She noted that an arrangement was made with Postanska stedionica bank, according to which returnees from diaspora can also receive housing loans, assessing that all these could be reasons that will motivate them to return.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the opening of a large number of science parks and the BIO 4 campus project, in which €250 million will be invested, half of which will be invested by Serbia and half by the European Union, is a chance for the return of young people to Serbia.
Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic stated that she is an example of a returnee from abroad, and she expressed her satisfaction at the fact that she can put the knowledge and experience gained in the world to the function of Serbia's progress.
