Brnabic specified that in the mentioned period, our exports were €2.13 billion and that it was higher than the whole of last year, when they amounted to €1.85 billion.
It is expected that this year the growth of exports in this sector will be greater than 40 percent compared to last year, and that we will reach approximately €2.7 billion, said the Prime Minister in a statement to Tanjug and added that this is something we should be proud of because just 10 years ago, our total exports in the ICT sector were only €375 million.
According to her, ICT services are becoming a dominant sector of our economy, and this shows the sophistication, resilience and competitiveness of our economy, which we believe will only increase and grow in the years ahead.
We have invested more than €250 million in infrastructure for innovation, IT sector, start-up companies. If we had not done that, we would not have anything to count on today in difficult times, said Brnabic and added that what kept Serbia going during the coronavirus pandemic, with the war in Eastern Europe this year and the accelerated recession in a large number of EU countries and on the European continent, is the extremely strong growth and development of the IT sector.
