Readiness for further deepening, strengthening of cooperation with UK

Belgrade/London, 28 November 2022

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today, on the sidelines of the conference dedicated to the prevention of conflict-related sexual violence held in London, with Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Europe at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Leo Docherty.

During an open conversation, mutual interest and willingness to further deepen and strengthen cooperation between Serbia and the United Kingdom in all areas of interest to the two countries was highlighted.

In the context of the jointly expressed desire for further intensification of political dialogue at the highest and high level, Dacic voiced his readiness to continue talks with British officials and improve cooperation in various areas, among other things in the improvement and implementation of measures for the prevention of sexual violence in armed conflicts, as well as for helping victims of such crimes.

Issues in the domain of bilateral political and economic cooperation, as well as current international issues, were also discussed.

The interlocutors assessed that there is still plenty of room for improvement of bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of economy, according to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
