First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic led today the Serbian delegation at the 18th Summit of the Francophonie in Djerba, in which 75 delegations took part.
On that occasion, Dacic talked with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Ioannis Kasoulides about the dynamics of the political dialogue between the two countries, European integration and cooperation in areas of common interest, especially in the fields of economy and energy.
Dacic expressed his gratitude for the support for the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, stressing that this is especially important at a time when the so-called "Kosovo" is trying to become a member of the Council of Europe, but also plans to apply for EU membership.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Hadja Lahbib, with whom he discussed the continuation of the constructive political dialogue, with the expectation of visits from the Belgian side.
The interlocutors particularly emphasised that they advocate further development of economic cooperation, bearing in mind the existing Belgian economic presence in Serbia, but also the attraction of further investments and the increase of trade between the two countries.
They also noted that there is room for improving cooperation within the Francophonie, in terms of Serbia's aspirations to become a full member of this organisation.
Dacic also had short meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra Maria Ubach i Font, and delegated minister from the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Cambodia Borita Oucha.
