Serbia resolved to become full member of Francophonie

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic discussed today with representatives of the Group of the Ambassadors of the Francophonie (GAF) the possibilities of improving Serbia's cooperation with the International Organisation of La Francophonie, including the mediation of the mentioned group.

Dacic emphasised Serbia's commitment to the values of La Francophonie - the promotion of peace, democracy, human rights, intercultural cooperation, dialogue and solidarity.

He pointed to our determination to become a full member of this organisation, and at the same time recalled a series of concrete steps we have taken in the direction of achieving this goal.

GAF representatives were informed that Dacic will lead the Serbian delegation at the upcoming ministerial conference and Francophonie Summit in Djerba, from 18 to 20 November, as well as that Serbia will participate in the "Village of Francophonie" event, which is held in parallel with the aforementioned multilateral gatherings, to present their cultural and artistic programme.

During the meeting, the representatives of GAF proposed initiatives that could contribute to greater visibility of Serbia in the International Organisation of La Francophonie, and therefore to achieving its full membership in this organisation, but also to give greater visibility and legitimacy to La Francophonie in the Serbian public.
