Political dialogue with UK of particular importance for our country

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic spoke with Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Serbia Sian MacLeod about the improvement of bilateral relations and current geopolitical issues.

Dacic assessed the relations between the two countries as good and underlined that the political dialogue with the United Kingdom is of special importance for our side, pointing out that we are talking about diplomatic relations lasting for 185 years.

He also expressed the hope that the successful cooperation with the government of the United Kingdom will continue in the future, and that the exchange of visits at different levels will be more intense.

When it comes to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the officials concluded that all efforts should be focused on the continuation of the dialogue, since the conversation is the only right way to solve the open issues, as well as to reach a sustainable agreement.

Ambassador MacLeod pointed out that the British side is interested in strengthening the political dialogue, as well as economic cooperation, which has been developing dynamically in recent years.

Dacic emphasised the interest of the Serbian side in further improvement and diversification of foreign trade, as well as attracting new investments from the United Kingdom.
