President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with a business delegation of the government of the United States (US) about further strengthening and development of the bilateral economic cooperation, new strategic partnerships, and potentials for investment in the fields of energy, ICT and green technologies.

Vucic underlined that the visit of the US business delegation, which includes representatives of some of the biggest and most famous global companies that showed interest in strategic business partnership with Serbia, is the first in 20 years and that in that sense it is of great importance for our country, not only in terms of cooperation potentials, but also as an indicator of Serbia’s progress as a stable economy and a desirable business partner.
Serbia saw a development chance in new technologies on time and that is why in the past decade we invested at an accelerated pace in infrastructure, reforms and the improvement of business environment, the President stated.
Many American companies that have been doing business successfully since long ago in Serbia and employ 30,000 Serbian workers represent an exceptional indicator of stability of our economy and business environment that we managed to create with a serious and systemic approach at all levels, Vucic underlined.
According to him, in the first eight months of this year alone the total commodity exchange between Serbia and the US reached $854.6 million, which represents an increase of as much as 45.6 percent in relation to the same period of 2021.
He pointed out that this trend is followed by an increase in exports of 28.2 percent, which gives additional optimism when it comes to strengthening economic partnership with the US.
The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to start as soon as possible with concrete cooperation in many areas in which underused potential has been identified, and that in that sense it is necessary to intensify meetings of Serbian and American businessmen, which will represent an additional step towards realisation of projects of mutual interest.
