65th International Belgrade Book Fair opened

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Maja Gojkovic attended the opening of the 65th International Belgrade Book Fair, where she opened the stand of Romania, which is this year's guest of honour, together with Minister of Culture of Romania, Lucian Romašcanu.

On that occasion, Gojkovic pointed out that the fair has occupied one of the central places on the cultural map of Southeast Europe for decades, and that is why the role of the guest of honour is very important for the presentation of literary creativity on a wider regional level.

According to her, the visit of Minister Romaškanu confirms the common commitment to the further development of relations in the field of culture, and the appearance of Romania, as the guest of honour, is another opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship between countries and peoples.

Romaškanu expressed the hope that the presence of Romanian writers will revive interest in Romanian literature, as well as that literature will contribute to the promotion of friendship between the two countries.

At this regional largest event, which is dedicated to the book and deals with the promotion of literary creativity and education, cultural exchange with abroad and the initiation of current, literary and social issues, 400 exhibitors from the country and abroad will be presented.
