At a press conference held at Belgrade's Intercontinental Hotel, speaking about the work the ministry has done this year, Ilic said that all plans have been realised and recalled that a great deal of work has been done on the reconstruction of railroads, highways and main roads in Serbia. There has also been a considerable investment in road infrastructure in mountainous areas, he added.
Ilic said he was especially pleased with the fact that all planned works have been carried out in the Sandzak area and announced that next year the ministry will start works on the reconstruction of the old and construction of a new bridge at Beska, on the Belgrade-Novi Sad highway. He added that completion of the highway Horgos-Pozega is also expected to take place in 2006, since major international companies have now applied for this tender.
According to Ilic, works on the railway station Prokop in Belgrade should begin in spring, which is a considerable investment in Serbia, and many international consortiums have applied for the tender.
Ilic voiced hope that works on the reconstruction of the new main road toward Montenegro will be completed in 2006, but added that he is not pleased that illegally built objects have not all been legalised, that Serbia's strategic development plan has not been made and that the ministry's cooperation with the City of Belgrade has been insufficient.
