Dragisa Okolisanov at today's press conference
Speaking at a press conference on results achieved by the agency through this year, Okolisanov said that the number of companies in the Republic of Serbia, counting those that have been established during this year, has increased to nearly 80,000.
Presenting the annual results, Okolisanov said that in 2005, transfer of registration of companies from Trade Courts to the register of the agency was accomplished, and recalled that starting January 1, entrepreneurs can start to pre-register.
He remarked on the successful work of the Financial Leasing Register, which has since its opening in January registered 33,000 agreements.
Okolisanov also recalled that from January 26, 2006, all registered leasing companies will be under obligation to register agreements in that register.
As an example of work well done he mentioned the Pledges Register, and said that during four months of work it received 4,200 applications for registration, while a third of the pledgees are banks.
He said that the most frequently pledged items are cars, production machines and equipment, as well as intellectual property rights, and pledgees are in 99 percent of cases legal persons.
Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo expressed satisfaction with the number of newly established businesses, and also the hope that the number of production firms, which was only 10 percent this year, will increase.
