Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today at the opening of the International Conference on Human Rights that she will never accept the position that the LGBT community defies the traditions and values of our society.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today at the opening of the International Conference on Human Rights that she will never accept the position that the LGBT community defies the traditions and values of our society.
Brnabic stated that she cannot accept views that create borders between individuals only because of their sexual orientation, adding that our history precisely, our tradition, society and state were built on centuries-old fight for freedom.
The Prime Minister thanked organiser of EuroPride Goran Miletic and his team on the organisation of this event and pointed out that this year is the first time that EuroPride is held in Belgrade, outside southeast Europe.
We learned to walk in other people's shoes and tried to understand each other, but we also learned what is important for our country, said Brnabic, assessing that the EuroPride organisers showed solidarity with their country and society, willingness to compromise and make difficult decisions when necessary.
After the speech, Prime Minister Brnabic was congratulated by Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret.
The International Conference on Human Rights "The Same and Different", held in Dom Omladine, is part of the programme of events oriented towards human rights within the EuroPride event.
