Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with representatives of pensioners' associations - the Association of Pensioners' Unions of Serbia, the Union of Pensioners of Serbia and the Pensioners' Union Nezavisnost.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Darija Kisic.
Brnabic pointed out that regular dialogue with representatives of pensioners is extremely important, adding that it will certainly be one of the most important tasks of the future government.
The Prime Minister pointed out that it is very important for the two parties to work together to improve the overall position of pensioners.
She recalled that pensioners, who bore the greatest burden of fiscal consolidation, are a priority when it comes to helping vulnerable categories, and that the government and the President of the Republic highly appreciate that they are a constructive partner in the dialogue.
Participants in the meeting said that the planned cumulative increase in pensions in November 2022 and January 2023 amounts to approximately 19 percent, and that in addition to the increase in pensions, the security of their payments is particularly important.
