Brnabic stated that the value of this investment is €25 million and underlined that this is a new level of security of our country and that we are opening special infrastructure for the fight against cyber warfare.
She said that the situation in Ukraine showed how important it is for a state to be equipped for the fight against cyber attacks and added that we have made one more important and serious step towards additional safety of citizens and our country.
According to her, a joint team of all security services should be formed at the national level, which would gather in one place all our capacity, knowledge, experience and experts in order to make Serbia safer from cyber attacks, which will additionally improve credibility and competitiveness of the entire country and our economy.
Director of the Office for Information Technologies and E-Government Mihajlo Jovanovic said that this is the best data centre in the region.
He pointed out that with the joint work of the best experts of security services and the Office for Information Technologies and E-Government, one more centre has been built according to the highest security and technical standards which fulfils the most demanding reliability criteria with 99.99 percent.
According to him, this facility has special technical functionalities in line with the needs of security services and together with Facility 1, which is intended for the public administration and local self-government, as well as for commercial users, makes a complete and unique complex of the State Data Centre.
The official opening was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojsa Stefanovic.
The State Data Centre was opened in Kragujevac in December 2020 and it then started to store data of state institutions, units of local self-government and commercial users.
The facility of the State Data Centre in Kragujevac covers a plot of four hectares and it is a complex of two facilities with a total of 14,000 square metres.
