Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojsa Stefanovic met today in Paris with a delegation of the French Senate, led by Chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces, Christian Cambon.
Stefanovic pointed out that Serbia and France have good bilateral cooperation in the field of defence, and the officials agreed that there is a mutual commitment to its further improvement.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for France's support for Serbia's European integration, emphasising that full membership in the EU is our country's foreign policy priority and that France's support is important to us along the way.
He reminded that one of the priorities for Serbia is regional stability, and that our country is determined to continue to be its key factor in the region.
The Open Balkans initiative is aimed at stronger economic development and the creation of better living conditions for all citizens of the region, Stefanovic pointed out, adding that it is completely complementary to the process of European integration.
Cambon pointed out the importance of Stefanovic's visit to the International Military Technology Fair "Eurosatory 2022" in Paris, as well as the importance of the common history of the Serbian and French people, adding that it is necessary to further develop cooperation on that basis.
