At a press conference held at the Clinical Centre, Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic recalled that in the last two years 12 angiography theatres, each of them valued at an average of €600,000, have been procured for the health institutions in Serbia
Head of the Clinic for Cardiovascular Surgery at the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases Lazar Davidovic said that angiography examinations in this clinic have so far been performed with angiography apparatus that is several decades old, and pointed out that the new theatre, equipped with Samsung digital equipment, will ensure safer and better diagnostics.
According to Miodrag Rakic, head of the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases, the procurement of this state-of-the-art angiography theatre and the previous procurement of ultrasonic aspirator will also contribute to savings, since they will reduce the need for sending patients to foreign health institutes for very expensive surgical procedures on brain and cerebral blood vessels.
