Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with milk producers from Macva about the challenges they are facing given the lack of their own animal feed on the one hand and the continuous jump in prices of concentrated food due to the current situation in Ukraine on the other.

Brnabic underlined that the state is trying to secure regular functioning of the state in this period of crisis, sufficient supply of citizens with all basic foodstuffs, as well as to ensure business certainty for all businessmen and farmers.
To that end, participants in the meeting discussed measures that can help to stabilise the milk and dairy products market.
Some of the measures are the supplement to the premium for the first quarter of 2022 (the thirteenth premium), the correction of the margin on UHT milk, as well as intervention in corn for cattle breeders.
It was agreed to hold one more meeting next week at the latest in order to analyse the measures proposed and make decisions which milk producers and buyers and the government believe will contribute to the stabilisation of the milk and dairy products market.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic.
