Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Annalena Baerbock.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic.
It was emphasised at the meeting that the Federal Republic of Germany is an extremely important partner of Serbia in European integration and economic cooperation, as well as one of the key foreign policy partners.
German companies employ more than 75,000 people in Serbia, and Germany is also the largest Serbian foreign trade partner with trade in excess of €6.5 billion from 2021.
What was especially emphasised at the meeting was that an increase of 22% was recorded compared to 2020, which is a clear indicator that already good trade cooperation is on an upward trajectory.
Brnabic emphasised the importance of the support of the Federal Republic of Germany on our European path, considering that this is the main foreign policy goal of Serbia.
One of the topics of the meeting was the situation in the Western Balkans region, and both sides agreed that preserving peace and stability is crucial for any further progress in the region.
Baerbock emphasised that the envoy for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarazzin, was appointed for the first time in the German government, and he also attended today's meeting.
When it comes to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Brnabic underlined that Belgrade is fully committed to the dialogue and the fulfilment of all signed obligations, as well as to contributing to its progress in the best possible way.
Baerbock stressed the importance of continuing reforms in the area of the rule of law and, in this regard, the constitutional changes adopted at the beginning of the year were assessed as very constructive and a step in the right direction.
