The 14th International Ethnic Film Festival opened last night at the Belgrade Ethnography Museum, at which, until December 5, films from 12 countries will be shown.
Director of the festival and the Ethnography Museum Velibor Stojakovic said that 72 films will be shown at the festival in the amateur, informative and competitive categories.
He said that the programme will present the realisation of a variety of themes and expressed satisfaction that this year domestic production has progressed compared with the previous year.
Within the framework of a cultural and artistic programme, professors and students of the ethnomusicology department at the “Mokranjac” music school presented a repertoire of songs from across Serbia.
Prior to the start of the official competition, last year’s Grand Prix winners, “Carnival in Turcisce” (Croatia) and “Muslim Labyrinth” (Bulgaria), were shown. The Russian film “A Middle Day” kicked off the festival as the first of this year’s competing films.
