State to provide additional support to social enterprises

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Darija Kisic Tepavcevic visited today the Association for Support of Persons with Disabilities "Our House", which deals with empowering young people with intellectual disabilities and their families and developing production lines of the social enterprise.

Brnabic pointed out that the Serbian government yesterday adopted the Bill on Social Entrepreneurship, which will help our society to have more solidarity and empathy and to show an even higher degree of responsibility towards the most endangered categories of our population.

According to her, this Bill is the best possible call to take care of all our citizens, the most vulnerable categories, and not only to take care of them, but also to believe in them, because social enterprises enable them to work, become independent and have income for themselves and, after all, to have a fulfilled and meaningful life in every sense.

Kisic Tepavcevic noted that the mentioned law will encourage the most vulnerable categories of the population and social enterprises to be even more successful.

Representative of the "Our House" Association Anica Sapasov presented to the Prime Minister the ideas and activities of the association on employing people with disabilities.

Spasov welcomed the fact that a law on social entrepreneurship will be passed next year, and underlined that it is very important for citizens to know that the activities of social enterprises are aimed at improving the quality of life of all people.
