Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with representatives of civil society and the social enterprise sector, who were also members of the Working Group for drafting the Law on Social Entrepreneurship.
After the consultations, the draft law will be on the agenda at today's session of the government.
The future law, as explained at the meeting, should contribute to a higher level of social protection and enable easier inclusion of hard-to-employ persons and persons in a state of social need, as well as their economic independence.
Representatives of civil society and the social enterprise sector assessed that a broad consensus was reached during the public debate on the draft law, and that the document represents the most comprehensive framework of legal provisions, harmonised with European practice in this area.
It was emphasised that significant support for the draft law was provided by the German Organisation for International Cooperation in Serbia (GIZ), which showed readiness to support the work of the Council for Social Entrepreneurship Development and the development of social entrepreneurship development programs. the adoption is proposed by the draft law itself.
Brnabic pointed out that for the first time in Serbia, this area is systematically and legally regulated and that it is very important that the government of Serbia and its competent ministries, as well as the wider interest community, agreed on all important provisions, taking into account the importance of regulating the area. which will make life easier for citizens and contribute to the development of social entrepreneurship.
The establishment of the legislative framework in the field of social entrepreneurship will provide better conditions for encouraging entrepreneurship, which will improve the general living standard of citizens, the Prime Minister concluded.
