Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that the price of electricity and gas for households will not change under any circumstances, noting that this was agreed on Friday at a meeting with President Aleksandar Vucic.
In an interview for "Prva" Television, Brnabic explained that they will try to make some long-term contracts for the economy, which will give them stability and competitiveness.
Such prices of gas and electricity have not been recorded in history, they are rising everywhere in Europe, Brnabic pointed out, expressing her belief that they will succeed in keeping our citizens and the economy safe in that sense.
The Prime Minister said that we have gas, we also have money to pay for it at stock exchange prices, but she expressed confidence that we will get a better price for those additional quantities.
We would not have gas today if we did not complete the main gas pipeline on 1 January 2021, our economy would not be able to work. It is an investment of about €1.5 billion. Today, we are safe, secure, we are a transit network for the gas pipeline, said Brnabic.
She also emphasised that she still believes that the accident at the "Nikola Tesla" Thermal Power Plant is a consequence of sabotage, which still does not release people from responsibility in the chain of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia.
It is unbelievable to me that all the control mechanisms failed. It is strange to me that no one noticed that weeks before and no one said anything to the relevant ministry and the state leadership, Brnabic pointed out.
Asked if Serbia has enough electricity, she expressed confidence that the supply will be stable and that people will have both electricity and heating.
