Bubalo told a press conference that six charters flights will take about 730 passengers from Serbia to the Moscow event and added that during the presentation of the Serbian economy, the Investment Forum will be emphasised, at which Serbian and Russian partners will discuss investment projects in Serbia that have already been submitted.
He said that Russian firms have shown interest in taking part in the privatisation process, or directly investing in many Serbian companies, such as Prva Petoletka, Rekord, Trayal and DMB.
Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijevic said that at the exhibition, the NIS Oil Industry of Serbia, the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency and many other Serbian firms already working in or seeking entry to the Russian market, such as Delta and others, will hold significant presentations.
As part of Serbia's cultural presentation, an exhibition of Serbian painter Olja Ivanjicki will be held, along with performances by several famous Serbian music groups. Also, an exhibition marking the anniversary of scientist Nikola Tesla’s birth will be included in the programme.
Dimitrijevic said that a Memorandum on cooperation with businessmen from the sub-Moscow area will be signed, as well as a Memorandum on the formation of a business club of Serbian and Russian businessmen, and an Annex to the Agreement on Cooperation between the Serbian and Russian chambers of commerce.
He said that it is expected that during the holding of the event many business contacts will be made which will attract investors to Serbia, through joint ventures or direct investments.
Director of the Belgrade Fair, Andjelko Trpkovic, who assisted in the organisation of the event, said that instead of the expected 100 firms, 299 Serbian firms applied to take part in the exhibition, which will hold 90 stands in an area of 2,800 square metres.
The event will be opened by Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, who will also meet with top Russian officials during his visit to Moscow.
