Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today that Serbia will have more than a billion euros of surplus from the export of information and communication technology (ICT) services this year, which is a bigger surplus than any other industry, noting that we have already achieved gender equality in this area.

At the opening of the conference "Women in Tech", organised by Huawei and the AFA community in the Yugoslav Cinematheque, Brnabic said that ICT is the strongest industry in Serbia, adding that we are just at the beginning and that a base for further growth has been created.
The surplus in the ICT industry this year will be over a billion euros, in the food industry for the first seven months 388 million euros, in the automotive industry 414 million euros, in agriculture 430 million euros. So, ICT is really the carrier of the development of economic growth in Serbia and the added value that is created here, Brnabic emphasized.
The Prime Minister added that the average salary in this area is three times higher than the average salary in the Republic and amounts to RSD 175,000.
She stated that 65% of women work in the Office for IT and eGovernment of the Government of Serbia, that 64% of winning teams in informatics competitions in primary schools are girls, and that Serbia has already achieved the goal of gender equality in the field of digital technologies.
Brnabic also pointed out that the government of Serbia is helping the development of the ICT sector so that young, educated and smart people can stay in Serbia, start families and build careers in their country, so that those who left can return, as well as foreigners who want to come here, they have the opportunity to find a job.
