Addressing the press after the session of this body, Brnabic specified that the medical part demanded the introduction of at least a ten-day ban on public gatherings of more than five people, shortening working hours until 5 pm for all activities except essential ones related to food, fuel and medicine, medical and craft activities and, if this results in a reduction in the number of infected, then to proceed with the use of covid passes.
They underlined that the mass immunisation of the population is still the most important and that the rate of 80 percent of the vaccinated population should be reached, with the obligatory vaccination of health workers and employees in public services, the Prime Minister said.
I think that these measures would lead to a faster reduction in the number of infected people, but they would also lead to the resumption of immunisation. When we had a small number of infected people, we were at 48% of those vaccinated for two weeks, she reminded and added that immunisation is now well implemented because people understood personal responsibility.
Vaccination against coronavirus is the only viable response to this pandemic, Brnabic emphasised and added that the introduction of more restrictive measures would only prolong the agony, delay the solution and is not a permanent solution.
The Prime Minister once again appealed to the citizens who have not done so to be vaccinated, and those who received the second dose more than 180 days ago to receive the third dose.
Brnabic estimated that the epidemic situation in Serbia is somewhat better yesterday and today, although the numbers are still large, stating that the difference in the number of hospitalised and discharged is decreasing, which today amounted to 100.
According to her, 79 local governments have more than 50 percent of the vaccinated adult population, nine have approximately 50 percent, while four have less than 30 percent of the vaccinated.
In the age population younger than 30, we have 22.7 percent of those vaccinated, she warned and assessed that it is very bad, but that is what we have to work on together.
