Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic announced today that problems with the spatial capacity of art faculties in Belgrade, namely the Faculty of Applied Arts and the Faculty of Music, will become a thing of the past.

Construction of new buildings for arts faculties

At a ceremony at the Yugoslav Film Archives, on the occasion of announcing a competition for the preparation of architectural solutions for new buildings, Brnabic said that the work on these projects have lasted for over two years and that after the conceptual design and technical documentation are ready, the works can start in late 2022 or early 2023.
She explained that the new building of the Faculty of Music will be located within the future Line Park, whereas the building of the Faculty of Applied Arts will be extended.
Ruzic recalled that these faculties have faced challenges over decades in organising classes and that they were given false promises so many times.
Today, students, professors and deans of our art faculties can feel relieved, hope and truly believe that better days are coming. I am saying that with full responsibility because it is certain that we will start with the construction of new buildings very soon, he concluded.
