Today, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic held regular consultations with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and representatives of the Ministry of Justice on changing the Constitution in the field of justice.
They discussed the activities of the Working Group formed by the Committee on Constitutional Issues and Legislation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, which is working on drafting an act amending the Constitution.
The working group consists of experts, law professors and representatives of scientific institutes, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Association of Prosecutors and the Association of Judges.
It was pointed out that the Venice Commission praised the composition of the Working Group and emphasised the importance of a transparent and inclusive process.
It is planned that the Working Group, which is working on the draft act on changing the Constitution, holds an online meeting with the Venice Commission in the second half of July.
The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will send an invitation to the representatives of the Venice Commission to visit Serbia at the beginning of September, in order to monitor all activities related to the change of the highest legal act.
