Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with new Head of the World Bank Office in Serbia Nikola Pontar and his predecessor Stephen Ndegwa about the results achieved in the previous mandate and the plans for the continuation of realisation of important projects, especially concerning the transition to the “green economy”.

Support of World Bank to “Green Serbia” project

Pontar said that he is happy about his new post and cooperation with the Serbian government, and that he will do everything it takes to enable a full realisation of the project “Green Serbia”, given that the World Bank offers support to environmental sustainability and the country’s energy transition, which is at the same time part of the EU’s Green Agenda.
Ndegwa said that Serbia and the World Bank can do a lot together in that field, and he also commended Serbia’s economic reforms and progress.
Brnabic thanked the outgoing Head of the World Bank Office in Serbia on cooperation to date and wished Pontar welcome, underlining that she expects that the next programme of cooperation will be equally successful.
