Brnabic pointed out that the economic growth of Serbia and its GDP is based, among other things, on the realisation of large infrastructure projects on which works are being performed by Chinese companies.
She noted that Shandong Hi-Speed Group has proven to be a fast, reliable and efficient partner with its projects in Serbia.
The construction of the Valjevo-Lajkovac fast road is one of such projects. This company successfully completed more than 50 kilometres in full profile on Corridor 11 (sections Obrenovac-Ub and Lajkovac-Ljig).
Also, the company Shandong Hi-Speed Group is interested in the preparation and implementation of the construction of the highway Belgrade (Borca)-Zrenjanin and Zrenjanin-Novi Sad.
For us, this is more than infrastructure projects, for us this means building Serbia, the Prime Minister said and thanked the representatives of the Chinese company for participating in it.
Executive Director Meng Yang thanked Prime Minister Brnabic for the significant recognition of his company’s work in Serbia and added that it is an incentive for them to continue with quality work, but also that they will use their influence in the People's Republic of China to invest in various sectors in our country.
Meng Yang specified that so far, the company Shandong Hi-Speed Group has invested approximately €400 million in projects in Serbia and Republika Srpska, and that this is just the beginning of cooperation.
He also promised that the works on the construction of the fast road Valjevo-Lajkovac will be completed by the end of November 2022, which is a year before the agreed deadline.
The meeting in the Serbian government was also attended by Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Serbia Chen Bo, whom Prime Minister Brnabic asked to convey gratitude to the Chinese leadership for their help in fighting coronavirus and fast and efficient procurement of Sinopharm vaccines for immunisation in Serbia.
